SHORT BIO
I was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1980. After living in Rome, London, Ankara and Tiburon, CA, my family moved back to Santiago in 1994. I began making shorts around 1997, and in 1998 I was interviewed on Chilean national television for my efforts. After earning my B.A. in Arts at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, I moved to San Francisco in 2005 to pursue a Cinema MFA at San Francisco State University. My commitment to filmmaking owes its inspiration to themes of cultural assimilation and interdependence between economies and cultures. I'm deeply indebted by the cinema that plays straight science fiction aesthetics into cinema realism, and the experiments of the surrealist-neorrealist hybrid, a strong characteristic of certain Chilean films of the 60s and 70s.
